The South Leeds Academy 6th Form is an expanding and successful provider of post 16 education.
We are in full partnership with Garforth Academy and between we offer an extensive range of Post 16 courses.
The numbers of students attending The South Leeds Academy 6th Form have doubled over the previous 3 years.
The courses available at The South Leeds Academy 6th Form enable student to progress into employment, apprenticeships, other further education courses and university. In 2010-11 every student who applied for a university place was offered one and this year more students than ever before have applied to go the university.
Our aim is to provide students with the opportunities to fulfil their potential. For this reason we offer vocational courses at level 1, level 2 and level 3. We also provide the opportunity to study A-level courses.
Students either study at TSLA, or Garforth Academy. A-level courses at this moment in time are studied at Garforth Academy. Level 3 Vocational courses such as Health and Social Care, Sports and Science are studied at TSLA. Level 2 Construction courses such as Joinery and Bricklaying are based at our purpose built facility at Lenton Drive. We also offer the level 1 Motor Vehicle Maintenance course which is based in the purpose built garage/workshop at TSLA. For Electrical and Plumbing courses, studies take place at the purpose built facility at Colton. The Hair and Beauty courses take place at Habits Salon in Garforth Main Street.
Students who attend The South Leeds Academy 6th Form are very well supported and their own personal and academic development is our priority. We have built an excellent reputation for providing students with the qualifications and experiences that will allow them progress into their chosen careers.
