24th August 2017

Congratulations to all our Year 11 students who collected their GCSE results today.  The Academy is relentlessly committed to raising standards and student aspirations and these outcomes this year show a 13% rise in students achieving a grade 4+ in both Maths and English and a 14% increase on combined. This will help our students to positively pursue their future ambitions.

There are many success stories in the class of 2017, with significantly improved outcomes across various subjects, but there are some particularly noteworthy achievements: Abbie-Lee Hughes achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English Literature, a Grade 8 in English Language along with a further eight A*/A grades, or their equivalent, in her other subjects giving her ten A*/A grades overall.

Sarah Hussain attained eight A*/A grades and a grade 9 in English Language. This is the highest possible grade achievable at GCSE, beyond even that of A*; and finally, Huang Zhao made outstanding progress in securing impressive results in both Maths and English Literature.

We are also proud of the large number of our students who have met or exceeded their targets.

Many of our Year 11 students are enrolled in either education or training for September and we wish them all the very best for the future as they embark upon the next exciting chapter in their lives.

Paul Tarn, Chief Executive Officer of Delta Academies Trust, said “I am delighted that the dedication of students, staff and parents has been rewarded in these improved results.  The results achieved by the students reflect both the hard work of students and staff.  We wish all students well in their next steps in education, training or employment, and look forward to hearing about their future achievements”.
