Interact Club Blog October 2014

Since our last blog we have raised in excess of £1000 through our whole school Race for Life event. Students and staff raised sponsorship funds to do laps of the academy grounds, and all funds raised were donated to Cancer Research UK. The club provided juice and cake for the staff after their excellent efforts.

This year we are raising money for Bethany’s smile charity. Bethany’s smile helps children with life limiting/threatening illnesses and its goal is to raise enough money to build a cottage where families can go and have a good time with their children. We have also made a donation of £300 to the charity LOFFTY from last years fundraising activities.

We have already held a Macmillan coffee morning this academic year where we raised £50 for Macmillan Cancer Charity and at the end of October, we ran a ‘Spooky Bake Sale’ and lucky dip for Halloween and raised a huge £100 in 30 minutes.. All of the money raised will go to our chosen charity.

We are looking forward to planning our next Christmas fundraising event, watch this space for updates…
