Interact Club Blog January 2015

Hello again,

It has been a while since our last blog post in October and a lot has changed since then so I am going to fill you in on all the exiting things that we have done since then.

Children in Need:

On the 13th and 14th of November we ordered some Pudsey wristbands and ears from the Children in Need website and sold them to students at break and lunch. We want to say a massive thank you to all the students for helping us raise an amazing £95!

The Rotary Presentation:

As the new president and vice president of The Interact Club, myself and Chloe Whittaker were invited to the Cosmopolitan Hotel to attend a Rotary Club meeting (Rotary are our sponsors) to have lunch and receive our medallions. After we had our delicious meal it was time to present to the Rotarians all the things we have been doing in Interact since they last saw us. It was nerve wrecking but I think we did well in the end. After the presentation we received our medallions and made our way back to school.

Number Day:

When we got back to school we started setting up for our Number Day fundraiser. Over the week we had been working with the maths department on a special project and it was finally happening. We held a ‘pie in your face contest’ where students got to buy tickets to throw pies at their teachers! We also sold number themed buns. The Interact Club would like to apologise to all the teachers who got a bit sticky during the process but it was all worth it because we raised over £90 for the NSPCC which is amazing!

Our new members!

At the end of last year we gained some new members too:

Helena Dunstan – year 10

Jamie Nutter – year 7

Rizwana Shaheen – year 10

Andzelika Duda – year 10

They have already made a great addition to the team and I’m sure they will continue to help us with all our events and fundraising in the near future. If you would also like to become a member of The Interact Club then you can speak to Miss Winn or Miss Coleman or just pop down to one of our meetings on Friday, period 5 in the library. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
